After the very first German Castle Con took place at Schloss Burg in 2019, we were forced to take a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the extensive restoration work carried out at the castle. We’re thrilled to finally welcome you back to this truly unique location!
Experience an unforgettable weekend inside a real medieval castle. Meet fellow fantasy and medieval enthusiasts, collect autographs, take photos with your favorite stars, and enjoy exclusive stage panels in a unique and personal atmosphere.

Please note: The event takes place mostly outdoors, so we recommend dressing appropriately for the weather.

The most scenic and enjoyable way to reach Schloss Burg has been the cable car connecting Unterburg and Oberburg since 1952. The ride takes approximately 5 minutes.

Directly to the Castle
You can also take the bus directly to Schloss Burg. At weekends, leisure bus line 687 runs hourly between Müngstener Brückenpark and Schloss Burg from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On weekdays, bus line 266 from the “Burger Bahnhof” stop and bus line 689 from the “Burg Brücke” stop provide connections between Unterburg and Oberburg.

ARRIVAL BY CAR
Schloss Burg is located near Cologne, Düsseldorf, and the Ruhr region in the heart of the Bergisches Land, making it an ideal destination for a day trip. The castle is easily accessible via the A1 motorway (Exit Wermelskirchen).
Please do not enter the castle’s postal address into your navigation system. Instead, use the following address, which will take you directly to the parking area next to Schloss Burg.

Most of German Castle Con takes place outdoors on the historic grounds of Schloss Burg – and that’s exactly what makes this event so unique.
Surrounded by impressive castle walls, charming courtyards, and medieval pathways, you’ll experience an unforgettable atmosphere that perfectly complements fantasy, medieval, and film worlds. The castle itself becomes part of the experience, creating incredible memories and stunning photo opportunities.
While some activities take place inside the castle, most of the event is held outdoors. We therefore recommend wearing comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing so you can enjoy your visit to the fullest.

What’s included in my admission ticket?
Wondering what exactly is included with your admission ticket? Here’s everything you need to know at a glance.
Your admission ticket grants you access to the event venue and allows you to explore the convention throughout the entire day. Enjoy a diverse stage program and experience our guests live on stage. With a little luck, you may even have the opportunity to ask your own question during one of the Q&A sessions.
Photography during panels is permitted, and short video recordings for personal use are welcome. However, full recordings of panels, as well as their publication or commercial use, are not allowed.
Your ticket also includes access to all exhibitors, dealers, fan groups, and cosplayers attending the event. Discover unique merchandise, exciting fan projects, and impressive costumes.
Depending on the event, additional photo opportunities and themed selfie spots may also be available throughout the venue.
Please note that autographs, selfies, photo ops, and meet & greets are not included with the admission ticket and require separate add-on tickets.
FAST LANE PASS
Less waiting, more time to enjoy
With the Fast Lane Pass, you’ll gain access to a dedicated priority line for autographs, selfies, and photo ops. This helps reduce waiting times and allows you to make the most of your convention weekend.
To use the Fast Lane, simply collect your wristband at the Sales Desk by presenting your Fast Lane ticket. The wristband is valid for the entire day. Any wristband that has been removed, altered, or tampered with will become invalid immediately.
Please note:
The Fast Lane Pass is an optional add-on and does not replace an admission ticket. A valid admission ticket is still required to enter the event.
The Fast Lane Pass does not include autograph, selfie, or photo op tickets. These must be purchased separately. The pass only provides priority access to the respective queues.
The Fast Lane Pass is valid exclusively for autograph, selfie, and photo op lines. It does not apply to event entry, the Sales Desk, food vendors, restrooms, or any other queues.
The Fast Lane Pass is valid for one person only.
Accessibility & General Information
Please take extra care when visiting historic buildings. Uneven paths, dips, and other typical features of old structures may occur throughout the site. As is common in castles and historic buildings, some stairways are narrow and uneven.
The exhibition in the main building (Palas) is wheelchair accessible, and a lift is available. However, the battlements and the keep are not accessible.
Pushchairs cannot be taken along the exhibition route. Storage space and lockers are available at the visitor centre.
Dogs are not permitted in the exhibition areas or museum rooms, with the exception of assistance dogs.
Food and drinks may not be consumed in the exhibition rooms.
Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire ticketed area, including the exhibition rooms, courtyards, and battlements.
Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the event.

CLOAKROOMS & BAGS
There is no cloakroom available on-site. A limited number of lockers are available at the Visitor Centre. We therefore recommend keeping your jackets, bags, and personal belongings with you during your visit.
ATMs
Please note that there are no ATMs on-site. We recommend bringing enough cash with you. While most exhibitors and vendors accept card payments, this is not guaranteed at every stand.
FOOD & DRINKS
You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
Please note that glass bottles are not permitted on the event grounds.
Food and drinks may only be consumed outside the buildings.
A variety of food vendors and refreshing drinks will also be available throughout the event. In addition, several cosy restaurants near the castle invite you to relax and enjoy a meal.
